Matt selected to receive SIMB Charles Thom Award

Matt to be honored with the 2024 Charles Thom Award from the Society of Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology


Congratulations to Matt who was selected to receive the 2024 Charles Thom Award from the Society for Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology (SIMB). The Charles Thom Award is given to individuals who have made outstanding research contributions in industrial microbiology and/or biotechnology. The award is named for Charles Thom, a pioneer in industrial microbiology and mycology, and "recognize[s] individuals who have made one or more outstanding research contributions in industrial microbiology and/or biotechnology…of exceptional merit, reflecting an independence of thought and originality that adds appreciably to scientific knowledge." Matt will receive the award and deliver the Charles Thom Award Lecture at the society's annual meeting in Boston this August.
